Creator Rewards views, LIVE gifts, and the part everyone skips: what pays zero
Same footage, 24x the money depending on where you post it.
| Revenue stream | Rate | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Creator Rewards | $0.40 to $1.00 / 1k | Qualified views only: original videos over 1 minute. Rate varies with region, engagement, and "search value" |
| Old Creator Fund | $0.02 to $0.04 / 1k | Replaced by Creator Rewards, whose 20 to 25x raise is why the switch mattered |
| LIVE gift diamonds | $0.005 each | TikTok takes ~50% when viewers buy coins; diamonds convert at a fixed rate |
| Videos under 60s | $0 | Not eligible for Creator Rewards. Length is the gate |
| Payout threshold | $10 / $100 | Rewards pays out from $10, LIVE from $100, via the Creator tools wallet |
Creator Rewards rates vary with region, watch time, and TikTok's opaque 'search value' factor. Estimates, not guarantees.
| Views | Original videos over 1 minute | Videos under 1 minute |
|---|---|---|
| 10,000 | $4.00 to $10.00 | $0 |
| 100,000 | $40.00 to $100 | $0 |
| 500,000 | $200 to $500 | $0 |
| 1,000,000 | $400 to $1,000 | $0 |
| 10,000,000 | $4,000 to $10,000 | $0 |
| 50,000,000 | $20,000 to $50,000 | $0 |
Creator Rewards at $0.40 to $1.00 per 1,000 qualified views. Views on videos under a minute, duets, stitches and reposts pay nothing from the program. Estimates, not guarantees.
TikTok's Creator Rewards Program only pays for original videos longer than one minute. That single rule explains most confusion about TikTok money: a viral 45-second clip with 5 million views earns exactly $0 from the program, while a 90-second video with 500,000 qualified views earns $200 to $500. If direct payouts matter to you, format length is a monetization decision, not a creative one.
The second engine is LIVE gifting: diamonds convert at a flat half-cent each, and for creators with engaged communities LIVE can out-earn views entirely. But the real money on TikTok has always been leverage: audience size prices your brand deals, which is where mid-size creators make multiples of their Rewards payouts. Compare the same audience's value on YouTube and Twitch. Cross-posting is the highest-ROI move in the creator economy.
